Horse portraits
Photographing horses is a somewhat tricky kind of a job.
This was the first time, that I took photographs of horses, using a studio setup.
I put up my light set up in the straw storage shed of the the horse stable „Fasanenhoehe“ in Chieming/ Germany. In order to create a dark background, it was vital that there was about 10 meter of void to the straw pile in the back.
Since I was a bit worried, that the horses might be scared by flash light, I was mainly working with LED Lights, the light shaped by three softboxes.
In order to get better contrast an highlights a flash (Godox AD200 with diffuser) was used.
We have planned about 20 min for each horse and the owner was assisted by a second person to get the horse in the right position.
It was amazing, that all horses got quickly aquainted to the lights and the equipment. None of the horses got really nervous.
A great Thank you to all horse owners and the assisting persons.
My special thanks to the owner of the horse stable Mrs. Viktoria Gsuk.
Watch and enjoy.
Your thoughts are very much appreciated.
